Soy Foods

Research has shown that 25 grams of soy protein a day can lower LDL cholesterol (the bad kind) without lowering HDL (the good kind). These research results prompted the Food and Drug Administration, in October 1999, to allow the makers of soy products to claim on their labels that 6.25 grams of soy protein in each serving can reduce the risk of coronary heart disease as part of a diet low in saturated fats. Adding soy to your diet is not only easy, but also very tasty.
