• Cash receipts from animal agriculture alone total $8 billion annually. The amount of income generated in related jobs and supporting industries adds another $20 billion, making animal agriculture in Minnesota a powerful $28 billion industry.

Largest User of Soybean Meal

• The livestock industry is the largest user of soybean meal in Minnesota, consuming 1,800,000 tons annually. That is the equivalent of 74 million bushels of soybeans. Minnesota Soybean producers depend upon the livestock industry for the profitability of their operations, and they fully support an environmentally- friendly, responsible livestock industry in the state.

Science-Based Research

• Clear, consistent and reasonable regulations and processes are needed for the livestock industry to remain viable and profitable.
• MSR&PC will continue to fund research in a science based approach to support the growth of the livestock industry in Minnesota.
